Greta Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Maharashtra, India, committing an investment of ₹10,000 Crores (~USD 1.2 Billion) for the development of a Greenfield Integrated Steel Plant in Chandrapur, Maharashtra.
The project, designed with Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) at its core, will be executed in two phases:
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis, along with senior government officials, and from Greta Group, Chairman Mr. Nitesh Choudhari and Director Mr. Anup Goyal. This milestone reflects Greta Energy’s vision to pioneer green steelmaking in India, integrating renewable energy, advanced European technology, and carbon capture solutions to produce sustainable steel and chemical products for global markets.
