Greta Energy is pioneering a low-carbon steelmaking route by integrating Green Pellets and clean syngas from our Coal Gasification + CCU complex into a cutting-edge European DRI technology platform. This advanced process enables the efficient reduction of iron ore into Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) with a significantly lower carbon footprint compared to conventional methods.
The DRI produced will be directly hot charged into the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), eliminating the need for reheating and thereby capturing and utilizing the inherent thermal energy of the process. This not only improves energy efficiency and lowers operating costs, but also reduces overall emissions, making it a vital step in Greta Energy’s commitment to sustainable steelmaking.
